Data Practices in a Blended Learning (BL) environment, include both formative and summative data collected from online software, classwork, quizzes, tests and projects. Both the classwork and projects can be personalized by offering students choices in how they show me what they know.
Choices can include bookwork, online work, posters, online projects (cartoons, powerpoints, books, animations, student content websites). Students have a Learning Profile that enables them to understand their own strengths and weaknesses as well as their learning styles so that they can be in control of their learning. Schoology includes a gradebook for students. This enables students to take control of their learning, evaluate their grades and create a plan for mastery.
Students can work on TEKS they have not mastered and move on from TEKS they have mastered. Data Practices includes regularly meeting with students to evaluate their data and create their own learning plan.
